Duchess a Gita Farid Film

The story of Wallis Simpson, the ambitious harpie who caused the King of England to abdicate his throne for her hand in marriage. Exiled to France (the British didn’t want them) in 1936, and whilst living there at the outbreak of the Second World War, Wallis Simpson, the Duchess of Windsor, collaborated with the occupying Nazis in France, to hang onto her wealth, jewels, property and lifestyle.

From her trysts with Von Ribbentrop before the War, to her casually passing on information to the Germans, of combat strategies left lying around in diplomatic memos by the hapless Duke of Windsor, this film explores her ruthless ambition and cunning self-preservation in the face of the evils of war.
